Food industry and logistics professionals gathered at Tampere Exhibition and Sports Centre on 11–12 September 2024. Finland’s most significant trade fair for the logistics sector and food industry filled the halls with satisfied visitors and exhibitors. At the same time, the EuroSafety and Occupational Wellbeing fairs were also held, bringing the total number of visitors across the four events to 9,249.
At Tampere Exhibition and Sports Centre, the two-day Food Industry and Logistics Trade Fair focused on current topics in the food industry and internal logistics. Alongside these, the three-day EuroSafety and Occupational Wellbeing fairs took place. Altogether, the four professional events attracted 9,249 visitors and 323 exhibitors under one roof. Visitor numbers increased by 18% compared to 2022, when the fairs were last held.
“Exhibitors and partners have given us a lot of positive feedback about this year’s fairs. As organizers, we are naturally pleased with the excellent growth in visitor numbers – this gives us a great foundation for planning the 2026 event,” says Petrina Palmroth, Project Manager at Tampere Trade Fairs.
Food Industry Fair Focused on Sustainable Food Production
This year, the Food Industry Fair particularly highlighted the future of smart and sustainable food production. The event’s main partner, Valio, sees the Food Industry Fair as the perfect-sized event for networking and sharing experiences among professionals.
“The Food Industry Fair has been an excellent place for us to reach industry players. Our ongoing Food 2.0 project has generated a lot of interest at the fair and sparked valuable discussions about the future of Finland’s food system,” says Aino Laakso, Communications Manager at Valio.
The fair also hosted the Finnish Bakery Team Championship, with the winning team coming from Elonen Oy’s bakery in Jämsä.
Logistics Fair Showcased and Awarded New Innovations
At the Logistics Fair, lively discussions took place about the role of logistics in the production chain from the perspectives of technological innovations, sustainability, and productivity. The event’s main partner, Konecranes, was pleased with the fair and the visibility gained through the partnership.
“The Logistics Fair has provided valuable meetings and discussions with customers. Many companies are looking to improve production efficiency and reduce their carbon footprint, and our new, larger fully electric forklifts have attracted particular interest,” says Klaus Kaukovalta, Product Manager at Konecranes.
The Logistics Fair offered a rich program throughout both days, organized by the logistics network Limowa ry and the Finnish Purchasing and Logistics Association LOGY ry. LOGY also presented the Internal Logistics Innovation Award, which this time went to the internal logistics training program at Tavastia Vocational College.
The Food Industry and Logistics Trade Fair will next be held in September 2026 at Tampere Exhibition and Sports Centre.
