Finnish Bakers’ Association: Elonen Oy Bakery Team Wins the Finnish Bakery Team Championship

The Finnish Bakery Team Championship, held in Kangasala and Tampere on 10–11 September 2024, was won by the team from Elonen Oy Bakery in Jämsä, consisting of Katri Mäkinen and Jorma Uusitalo. In the Halloween-themed competition, the team created products such as spiderweb bread, raspberry trifle protein snack, and a cake titled R.I.P. Forgotten Rose.

Second place went to the team from Ramin Konditoria Kahvila Oy in Mikkeli, Suvi Iinatti and Henri Kekäläinen, while third place was claimed by the team from Linkosuo Bakery Oy in Tampere, Miia Jokinen and Tytti Tukiainen. Fourth place was awarded to Pielispakari Oy from Nurmes, represented by Sari Lukkarinen and Katri Akkila.

The competition required participants to prepare three different products:

• A bread (which had to include hemp),
• A savory or sweet snack (containing at least 20% protein),
• A confectionery product or assortment for 60 people.

The competition’s partners included Condite Oy, Finnbakels Oy, Leipurin Oy, Mauste-Sallinen Oy, ValioAimo, as well as Tredu Kangasala Unit and Tampere Trade Fairs Ltd.
